Setup Kubernetes cluster
ArconQ is a cloud-native framework that requires Kubernetes. If you do not have your own Kubernetes cluster, you can use microk8s, which is an easy to install and configure Kubernetes distribution.
Configure microk8s environment
For development purpose you can use microk8s cluster installed locally on your PC.
It is up to you to verify whether you comply with microk8s and its add-ons licenses.
Install microk8s
Recommended resources for small cluster
CPU: 4
MEM: 8
DISK: 40
Download installer, install and set up microk8 (Windows)
You can obtain the installer from here: https://microk8s.io/microk8s-installer.exe
Install and set up microk8s (Linux)
sudo snap install microk8s --classic
microk8s install --cpu 4 --mem 8 --disk 40
Enable the add-ons
microk8s enable dns
microk8s enable storage
microk8s enable ingress
microk8s enable registry
microk8s enable helm
Start microk8s
microk8s start
If you want to stop microk8s use
microk8s stop
Verify if microk8s cluster is running
Run this command:
microk8s kubectl get pods
You should get such response:
No resources found in default namespace.
Ingress
Make sure the ingress controller installed in your cluster is Ingress-Nginx Controller (https://kubernetes.github.io/ingress-nginx/) and not NGINX Ingress Controller.
You can install or upgrade the NGINX Ingress Controller using Helm with the following command:
helm upgrade --install ingress-nginx ingress-nginx \
--repo https://kubernetes.github.io/ingress-nginx \
--namespace ingress-nginx --create-namespace \
--set controller.allowSnippetAnnotations="true" \
--set controller.config.annotations-risk-level="Critical"
